About David:
David S Bassett has lived on both sides of the state of Wyoming. In the early 80’s David and his wife Deborah moved to the Cheyenne area as their place of residence right after their wedding. They moved back to Wyoming to the far southwest side of the state to Evanston.
David enjoyed the opportunity to serve our country in the United States Air Force. He received an honorable discharge. In recent years, it was a privilege to serve on the Wyoming Veterans Commission.
He worked for many years in Natural Resources in a variety of capacities. Upon his retirement from the natural resource career field, his wife informed him that he was too young to retire and that he needed to secure other employment (find a new job.) He crossed over to Human Resources and continued his career in Job Services. His wife didn’t want him under foot at home.
Over the years, he has had the opportunity to serve on numerous boards and commissions in a variety of capacities. These opportunities included church, school, economic development, chambers, nonprofits in various states and communities in which they lived.
We have two adult children; our son and his wife live in Washington and our daughter and her family live in Texas.
In 2015 David and Deborah, and a group of friends put together a nonprofit foundation to provide travel assistance to Uinta County cancer patients who travel back and forth to the Wasatch front for treatment. This is an on-going endeavor.
David considers it a great opportunity and privilege to serve on the State Parks and Cultural Resources Commission.
