About Leslie:

Leslie Stewart spent her youth in the mountains of Colorado and recent decades on the high plains of western Nebraska and Wyoming. Even though she is not a Wyoming native, she has a love and appreciation for the varied geographies, history, and cultural abundance of her adopted home.

In pursuit of her higher education, Leslie attended Carleton College, the University of Colorado, and Chadron State College. She received a BA in conservation education and an MS in rangeland management.

Leslie has retired twice. The first was from the telecommunications industry. There, she was a manager in technical publications and product management, largely in the Denver area. She retired and moved to the northwest corner of Nebraska. She went back to school, received her master’s degree, and worked as a rangeland management specialist for the U.S. Forest in Chadron, Nebraska. She retired for the second time from there.

She currently lives in Lusk and volunteers at the Stagecoach Museum where she writes articles and serves as a host. Leslie enjoys and contributes programs to the cultural events hosted by the Niobrara County Library. She loves to travel and has been to all but two states and over 70 countries. One of her current goals is to become totally familiar with and contribute to all the richness that Wyoming has to offer.
