About Angela:

Angela Emery moved to Wyoming in 1990 with her husband, Steve Emery, a Casper native, where they raised two children who are third generation Wyomingites. Angela and Steve met while attending Northwestern University in Evanston, IL where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History. Emery began her career in Wyoming as the Office Manager for Senator Alan Simpson’s final campaign and assisted with other political campaigns in the early 1990’s. In 1999 Angela took the position of Executive Director for the Platte River Trails Trust, a trail and community building organization in Casper.

Over the past 23 years she has spearheaded extensive expansion and enhancement of the Platte River Trail, the Casper Rail Trail, the Tate Pumphouse and other non-motorized trails and greenspaces in the community.

Angela has been an active volunteer in the Casper community through the Casper Rotary Club and many other organizations. She received, the Marie Robertson Lifetime Achievement Award from the Wyoming Tennis Association in 2010, an Individual Citation Award from the Wyoming Recreation & Parks Association in 2014 and served as President of the Intermountain Tennis Association and a member of the National Nominating Committee of the United States Tennis Association. In May of 2022 Angela was awarded the Tony Cate Jr. Leadership Award for service to the non-profit sector in Central Wyoming.

Angela is an avid tennis player and trail user and enjoys yoga, reading and travel. Her two children Katherine and Porter reside in Denver, CO.
