About Dr. Robert Tyrrell:
My wife and four children moved to Thayne Wyoming in 1984 from Arkansas.
At that time, I worked for the USDA Forest Service in the engineering department.
I have spent much of my career working to strengthen rural communities through public service, business leadership, and economic development. I served as Mayor of Thayne, Wyoming for 14 years and later as a Lincoln County Commissioner from 2014–2022, where I helped lead infrastructure improvements, community development projects, and initiatives that support long-term economic growth.
Alongside my public service, I worked in the private sector as CEO of Wyoming Minuteman Supply LLC and previously as a GIS Division Manager and partner at Sunrise Engineering, gaining experience in business operations, strategic planning, and regional development.
My work has always focused on building partnerships between government, businesses, and community organizations to create opportunity and improve quality of life in western Wyoming. I was honored to be named Star Valley Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2011.
I am an avid outdoorsman and love to backpack, fish and hunt. My winter hobby is working in my woodshop.
