Wyoming Arts Council Offers Free Creative Aging Training for Artists and Program Administrators

WAC

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – April 9, 2026 – The Wyoming Arts Council, in partnership with Lifetime Arts, is accepting registrations for a free virtual training designed for Wyoming-based teaching artists and program administrators to learn how to design, develop, and implement Creative Aging programs in their communities.

Wyoming has a growing community of older adults. One effective way to address adverse health effects associated with aging is through intentional engagement with the arts, known as Creative Aging. These programs provide older adults with opportunities for social connection and continued learning through the arts. The Wyoming Arts Council has partnered with the Wyoming State Library and the Wyoming Department of Health's Aging Division to expand Creative Aging programming across the state.

The training will be held virtually over three sessions on May 21, May 28, and June 4, from 1 to 3 p.m. Participants are expected to attend all three sessions. Registration is available at forms.lifetimearts.org/caf-wy-caws26 and is limited to 25 participants statewide. Applications will be accepted through May 7 or until the training reaches capacity.

The training is provided by Lifetime Arts as part of its Creative Aging in the Western States initiative and is offered free of charge. Participants will gain practical tools, proven frameworks, and strategies for designing and leading effective, outcomes-driven Creative Aging programs across a range of disciplines, including visual arts, music, performing arts, literary arts, and folk and traditional arts.

“We’re excited to once again offer this training to artists and administrators who are interested in developing Creative Aging programs in their communities,” said Josh Chrysler of the Wyoming Arts Council. “Participants walk away from these training sessions with the tools and confidence to design and implement these important Creative Aging programs in their own communities across Wyoming.”
