About Michael:

Michael is a proud fourth-generation Montanan. Born and raised in Billings, Montana, he spent many memorable summer vacations exploring the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming. His academic journey began at Montana State University in Bozeman and continued at Montana State University-Billings, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education.

Following the completion of his undergraduate studies, Michael’s passion for education led him to teach for several years in Montana, New Mexico, and Wyoming. Seeking to further his expertise, he obtained a Master of Education in Technology from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He also pursued post-graduate studies in school administration at both Portland State University and the University of Wyoming.

For the past 40 years, Michael has made Casper, Wyoming his home. Over a career spanning 35 years, he has served in various roles including teacher, resource specialist, school principal, and district administrator. In recent years, he has transitioned into working as an educational consultant and professional learning facilitator, supporting numerous schools both across the United States and internationally.

Michael is deeply engaged with the cultural and natural resources of Natrona County and the state of Wyoming. He currently serves on the Casper City Council and has actively participated in several local organizations, including the Casper Senior Center, Regional Water System Joint Powers Board, Homeless Coalition, and Youth Mental Health Coalition.

Outside of his professional commitments, Michael treasures the beauty and wonder of Wyoming, enjoys spending time with his family, and loves traveling throughout the country and to international destinations. His dedication to community service is reflected in his involvement with the Casper Child Development Center board of directors, the Self Help Center board of directors (a domestic violence intervention agency), and the Nicolaysen Art Museum board of directors. Over the years, these volunteer efforts have fostered a deep love and sense of pride in both his community and state.
